Overview
Hexarelin is a synthetic hexapeptide and one of the most potent growth hormone-releasing peptides (GHRPs) studied to date. In addition to its strong GH secretagogue activity, it has demonstrated direct cardioprotective effects independent of GH releaseβa unique property within the GHRP family.
Mechanism of Action
Hexarelin activates the GHSR-1a receptor in the pituitary to trigger robust, dose-dependent GH release. It also binds to the CD36 scavenger receptor in cardiac tissue, exerting direct anti-apoptotic and cardioprotective effects. Additionally, hexarelin inhibits somatostatin, further amplifying GH output.
Common Research Uses
- GH stimulation research
- Cardioprotection studies
- Anti-aging research
- Body composition research
